HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND VALENTINE’S DAY ~ to the best husband EVER!

About 34 years ago (seems like yesterday), I was attending a College and Career bible study at my new church. We met in a large room with ping pong tables, a pool table, and a large meeting area with folding chairs. Because I grew up playing ping pong (and I’ve got some skills if I do say so myself!), I picked up a game with three guys.

Me and my team mate crushed the competition!!

One of the guys across the table (on the loser’s side) was my future husband, the LOML (Love of My Life).

Thirty years after we walked down the aisle and committed our lives to each other, I can still beat the pants off of him in ping pong!!

Well, today is not only Valentine’s Day but is also the sweet man’s birthday. Fifty nine years ago, the world was blessed beyond measure!!

He’s smart. He was Valedictorian of his Senior class of over 600 people! He knows trivia that no one else on the planet knows. He went on to earn his B.A. and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at Georgia Tech.

He’s patient. He’s married to me isn’t he? Whenever we’re working on a project or he’s fixing anything, he works through it until it’s done. If something doesn’t work the first time, he works and works until he figures it out. I would have picked it up and thrown it across the room twenty minutes earlier! You should see him help our daughters with their math homework!!

He’s a great cook! He makes the BEST shrimp fried rice EVER! It’s the highlight of any meal.

He’s a hard worker. He retired from his first job after 30 years and began working for another company to provide for our family. After having four boys, we were led to adopt our two daughters. He jokes about me not wanting him to ever retire and to work until he is dead! But I know he wouldn’t want it any other way.

He’s a wonderful father! From staying up with me and the newborn babies while I nursed, to coaching the boys’ basketball teams, to attending every game, recital, graduation, and birthday party.

He’s flexible. He always wanted two kids. We have six. Enough said! No, really, any crazy idea I come up with, or any project I see on Pinterest that I want to copy, he’s right there helping me to accomplish it. He may think the idea (or me) is crazy but he’s all in anyways!

Okay, so I married a freakin’ saint!!!! He puts up with a lot, continually does things for everybody else and always has a smile on his face. We just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. Can’t wait to see what God has planned for the rest of his precious life!

Today is his birthday! He is 59 years old on Valentine’s Day. The world is a much better place because this man came into it and my life is blessed beyond measure because he chose me to spend the rest of his life with. YEAH!

I hope y’all have a wonderful Valentine’s Day and I hope you get to spend it with the ones you love!

Love y’all,

Linda
